“Boston Busing in Chinatown, 1975" (2025)
“Boston Busing in Chinatown, 1975" illuminates the crucial but often overlooked activism of Boston's Chinese community during the school desegregation crisis through an outdoor installation, complementing the Chinatown Immigrant History Trail. Timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the busing boycott, this installation both fills a documented visual gap in the historical record and gives new life to previously collected oral histories, creating a commemorative experience that deepens our understanding of Boston's civil rights history.
The photo exhibition will be installed February to May 2026 on Auntie Kay & Uncle Frank Chin Park, Rose Kennedy Greenway.
